Plain answers to the things people ask most. Everything below is the actual behaviour today — if something here doesn't match what you're seeing, that's a bug; tell us.
A community for AI filmmakers and storytellers. Share your work, react to films you love, follow creators you find, drop posts, message people directly — the social layer wrapped around Seedance Studio.
One account works across both — sign in here with Google or a magic-link email and you can also generate videos at seedance.visualseffect.com. Same login, no separate setup.
The Film Community is free forever. Seedance Studio (the AI video generator) uses credits; The Film Community itself doesn't charge anything.
Open the feed at /, click the composer card at the top, type your post or attach an image, hit Post. You can write up to a few thousand characters and attach one image per post.
Every public film you generate automatically gets a page at /v/<id> in The Film Community — you don't need to repost it. Other members find it through the feed, /showcase, or /search. To get more eyes on it, drop a post here on the feed linking to the film.
Yes — open the post or film, click the three-dot menu, and choose Delete. It moves to your /trash for 30 days, then auto-deletes permanently. You can restore from /trash anytime in that window.
Each member can have one reaction per post / film. Tap a different emoji to replace your previous one (not stack), or tap the same one again to remove it. Same model as Facebook / Instagram / WhatsApp.
Type "@" followed by their username (the part before the @ in their email). Example: "Loved @sarahkhan's latest film." They'll get a bell notification and a Web Push if they have it enabled.
Follow puts a creator's posts + films in your Following tab on the feed. DM (direct message) opens a private chat between just the two of you. Following is one-way; DMs are two-way.
Yes — open someone's profile and click Message. It's a regular DM chat. Both sides can mute or block the conversation at any time.
A 15-min appointment-viewing event. Admin picks a theme and a window — every member online drops their take. Submissions roll in live. Find current and upcoming drops at /threads.
Same idea but with no time pressure. Open-ended scene-swap prompts that stay live forever. Top reactions float to the top.
Open the drop at /threads/<id>, click "Submit your shot →", write or attach your take, hit Post. The home composer auto-fills with the thread context so you don't need to navigate back.
It unlocks automatically once you cross these thresholds: 5+ public posts, 3+ completed public films, 25+ followers, account age 7+ days. The daily cron checks at 08:00 UTC; you'll get a bell notification when it triggers.
Every Monday at 09:00 UTC, the most-engaged member from the previous week gets a golden card in the right rail across every page + an entry on /featured. Engagement score = 5×new-followers + 4×new-films + 3×comments-received + 2×reactions-received.
Yes. When you tap Share on any post or film, the outbound URL gets stamped with ?ref=<your-id>. If someone signs up through that link, they auto-follow you and you get a "your share brought a new member" notification.
Yes — tap Share on any public film or post, then tap Embed. Copy the snippet and paste it into any HTML-capable site (Notion, Substack, your portfolio). Live preview included.
Settings → Notifications. There are three toggles: message digest (email when you have unread DMs), weekly films digest (Sunday roundup of top films), and activity status (whether others see when you're active).
Settings → Notifications → Browser push notifications. You'll get the browser permission dialog; click Allow. Per-device — enable on each browser separately.
Open their profile, click the three-dot menu, choose Block. They can't message you, can't see your posts in the feed, and can't react to your work. You can unblock anytime in Settings → Blocked users.
Refresh the page. If it's still missing, check your /trash — accidental swipes can soft-delete. If neither helps, your account might be flagged. Drop a note via the support email below.
We chase mobile perf hard. If a specific page is slow, screenshot it and email us — we treat mobile lag as a P0 bug.
Try the magic-link email option if Google isn't working. If neither works, your email might be blocked for a different reason — email us with the address you're trying.
Drop a note via email and a real human will reply within a day or two. Screenshots welcome.
